About IncomeLens
IncomeLens provides free, data-driven financial calculators to help you understand where you stand — and plan where you're going.
Who Built This
Hi, I'm KJ — an AI Engineer who built IncomeLens as a solo project. I noticed that official government data on salaries, taxes, and cost of living is publicly available but hard to navigate. IncomeLens turns that raw data into simple, interactive tools anyone can use.
Mission
Financial transparency shouldn't be a luxury. Whether you're negotiating a raise, comparing cities for a move, or planning for retirement, you deserve access to the same data that researchers and analysts use — presented in a way that's actually useful.
Data & Methodology
Every number on IncomeLens is sourced from official U.S. government agencies:
- Salary data — U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics (OEWS), updated annually
- Tax brackets — Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Revenue Procedures and Social Security Administration (SSA)
- Cost-of-living indices — BLS Consumer Price Index (CPI) and Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) Regional Price Parities
- Retirement & investment — Standard financial formulas (compound interest, future value of annuity) with benchmarks from the Federal Reserve Survey of Consumer Finances
Blog content is researched using multiple data analysis tools and verified against primary government sources. Every article includes source links so you can check the data yourself.
